What are the required documents for registering a boat in San Marino?
The required documents vary depending on whether you are registering as a private owner or a non-San Marino company, versus registering as a San Marino resident or a San Marino-based company.
For an individual owner who is not a resident of San Marino or a foreign company:
- Chamber of commerce company registration,
- Appointment of San Marino Resident Agent form (attached),
- If private owner - passport of the applicants; OR
- If boat is company owned - Incorporation certificate and passport of the applicants.
For an individual owner residing in San Marino or a company registered in San Marino:
- San Marino ID for individuals; or San Marino Chamber of commerce company registration and passport of the applicants.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not mandatory for private yachts under 24 meters. It is sufficient to fill-in a self-assessment form to obtain the safety certificate.
